honestly, i have to admit that even though i have wanted this surgery for a long, long time i became a little scared as it came closer to the surgery moment. but, as soon as i walked into the clinic and was greated by the warm and friendly staff, all my worries dissapeared.
I am a seventeen year old girl who currently weighs around 300lbs. i knew i needed a change and i beleive this was the right choice for me.
the facilitys here are very nice and very clean. every doctor i met was so sweet and sincere.
i would HIGHLY recomend getting the lap band procedure here at Dr. Ortiz's clinic.
even with the slight discomfort caused from the surgery itself, i am very glad that i did it, for now i am on a way to a new life full of happiness.

What a way to start my new years resolution, arriving at the clinic welcomed by warm and friendly faces as well as patients I had got to talk to on the forum.
The surgery was simple and I am very scared since this was my first time being put to sleep and having any kind of surgery. Before I went in, Dr. Martinez came into my
room, we talked about everything as well as the surgery and I knew he would take good care of me. I feel right at home here and cant wait to come back at get my first fill!

My personal experience has been great. I would highly recommend this clinic, the doctors and nurses. The facilities are very clean and comfortable.
The information and pre-op is extremely detailed. I felt comfortable and in good hands throughout my entire stay. Well worth the money.
Both my 17 year old daughter and I had the procedure on the same day. We both agree it has been a positive experience and are on our way to a new way of eating and life.

Hello everyone ot Obesity Control Center. I was banded yeaterday 1/2/09 and my experience so far has being wonderful. The staff is very dedicated, very knowledgable,
and very VERY caring. The center is the cleanest I've visited and Carmelita, your RN, is an angel. I felt taken care of and if I had the need to do it all over
again, I would. Hotel accommodations were wonderful too. I will for sure recommed OCC to friends and family.

My surgery experience was pefect from the first minute I saw Fransico at the border Station parking. He was very kind and anwered any questions we had.
Everyone at the hotel was friendly and offered advice for safe nearby dining and shopping. Once arriving at the OCC we were greated with the beautiful smile from Gloria.
She went step by step with us on how our day would go. There were 7 ladies waiting for surgery in the lobby and we talked and waited only a few minutes for the drs. to
call us back one by one. We talked with the cardiologist and had an EKG. He was wonderful.
Next we talked to Dr. Miranda about the diet. She was fun and easy to talk to. We soon met Dr. So. He made us feel so at home and we loved hearing stories about his
life and how he came to the OCC. Dr Velaco came in next to ask if we had any question about the anasthetics (sp). Again so easy to talk to.
Carmelita helped get the IV going and was soooo loving and caring. She took great care of me before and after the surgery. Jose was a fabulous nurse as well she was
there every time any of us needed her. She even let me use her personal hair dryer!! Finally, I met Dr. Martinez. I was the second surgery of the day. He just sat
down on the couch in my room and spoke to me and my husband for a while then off I went. Next thing I know I was back in my room and I guess I was saying some crazy
things while coming to. I made 'em all laugh. Dr. Martinez was around the rest of the afternoon and checking on all of us.
Dr. So was marvelous. I think I said that already but he really was. EVERY SINGLE staff member went over and beyond their call of duty.

I'm at OCC as I type this...just out of surgery about an hour or so. Things have been great here so far. The staff is absolutely amazing. Any doubt or concern I
may have had prior to surgery was put to rest as soon as I started talking to the doctors and nurses. They really know what they're doing and they're all extremely
friendly. I've had several surgeries in the past for different reasons and do not do well coming out from being under for anstestesia...but today I had no problems.
I'm really looking forward to the next several months.

The staff was very helpful and kind. The facilities were first class. I was treated by 4 doctors. Dr. Ortiz and his staff were very knowledgable and I was treated
as a dignitary. No precaution was overlooked. Thank You.
